Jenuary, 2003In January we have lot’s of holidays and it often happens that we penetrate into this kind of vanity so much that our soul is trying to attract our attention telling us that we forgot about it. But sooner or later all holidays are over and workday s start. Christmas hymns are put off till next year and there are piles of fir-trees in the garbage. And only after you can hear the sounds of silence you realize what is the most important. Our SOUL is definitely the most important.
At the group we studied the passage about Jesus Christ’s baptism and it was interesting to see what people thought about their soul. After we read John’s words about “fruits for repentance” the question about confession was risen.
On Fridays there comes Sasha (a programmer). He’s reached a good intellectual level by his conscientious study and was very proud of that. At the beginning of our discussion we talked about the Bible as the main program in our life computer. Sasha was keeping silence for a while but then said there were other good, interesting and useful books.
When we started to talk about repentance Sasha was thinking about something, then said some phrases and stopped talking at all. It was not like him, he usually talks a lot, gives many examples and shows his knowledge. When Peter asked him: “Sasha, on computer language it means, “restart”, doesn’t it?” And he replied: “No. It means to kill disc C completely and start everything again.”
It’s really hard to find strength in yourself and leave something so important for you behind even if it’s nothing material, just your knowledge.
We hope that God has started His holy work in him and He finishes everything He starts.
