Have you ever thought about your life being like a game with it’s rules and tricks, competition and keeping score? In our life like in every game we try to reach some goal, we have victories and sustain defeats. But the main question remains – have we played by God’s rules or our own?
“Game” was the topic of our Staff Training in February. All seminars and trainings on spiritual development were based on John Ortberg’s book «When the Game Is Over, It All Goes Back in the Box». A lot of sessions made us think about our relationships with God and see them in a new light.
Sveta Kotets from Kherson shared her revelations:
«What is it in me that prevents or limits God from using me or blessing me? This question is like a test for me that helps to clearly see what does limit God in my life and ministry. If I realize that and admit that then it’s easier to give these problems to God and let Him change me. It also inspires me that a true repentance never leads to despair.”
Besides the spiritual development we also had trainings on teambuilding and skills development. Our Bible studies in the mornings were built in a new way. We offered five topics for discussions and the icebreaker for each of them was some game. One of the last evenings was devoted to sharing our blessings and praying for ministry in each city.
Besides the serious part of the conference we also had opportunity to rest and play games. Each IP staff was also an agent of Ukrainian Counter Terrorist Unit and we had to find and stop the mole - Chinese secret agent. On February 14 our music group congratulated all girls and women on the holiday.
Each game is over some time and each conference comes to an end. But the most important thing to remember is that we have to take those precious lessons that God has prepared for us, hear His wise and encouraging words and see His love and faithfulness.
