One of our lay leaders--Nadya Nakonechnaya from Kherson-- has shared her experience in witnessing about Christ.
"I am always waiting for Sunday with impatience to have fellowship with brothers and sisters, prayer and worship. But on Sunday before the Easter I couldn't go because my husband and I were invited to a very important event in a relative's life. I couldn't refuse to go, so I prayed and asked God to let me glorify Him during my visit as well.
I needed to be prepared. I read the passage from the Bible where Christ entered Jerusalem one week before He was crucified. I was sure I could share this with my relatives. On Saturday I started to hesitate and got really scared. I wondered, "What will my husband think of me? How will I look in my relatives' eyes?" But God strengthened me and gave me confidence.
When everybody was gathered around the table covered with lots of delicious dishes together with bottles of wine I started to speak, "Wait, I need to tell you something. This is not an ordinary day. It is very importantÅ " And I told them the whole story. When I finished everyone thanked me and said that they had never thought about the meaning of that day. My husband was proud of me that I knew something nobody else knew.
I thank God for the strength that He gave me, and I pray for my husband and my relatives to get to know Christ!"
