I heard the voice
of the Lord,
saying,
Whom shall
I send,
and who
will go for us?
Then said I,
Here am I;
send me.
Dniper. We have a lot of plans for our church development. Here are some of our ideas. The main concept of our church is---participating in God’s dream. The key Bible verse is “Your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” Mathew 6:10. We decided to gather for a separate meeting every last Saturday to have communion. At the end of September, we had an interesting thing happen. We went to the summer house of one of our church members and decided to have a service there. There were a lot of our friends – unbelievers that don’t come to our regular services. It was a great time of sharing the Gospel. We talked about a very serious topic--What is the meaning of the Gospel? On the 30th of September we are planning to have our Sunday service at the new place. We also decided to organize Harvest Day or Ukrainian Thanksgiving Day. A lot of people from groups and the tourist club will come. Our church website is up, but it still needs to be improved. You can visit it on http://kingdom.at.ua.

Kiev. Sasha Fedun: At the group “Polish + Bible” one of the participants – Makar always brings different translations of the abstracts we are reading together. I usually give them the abstract from the Bible in Polish, but he is the one that finds it in Russian and Ukrainian. He likes to compare the translations and study the difference between the words. Because of his interest, he started reading the Bible very actively and inspiring others. With the Polish group I watched a movie “Island.” Then the participants were discussing it making parallels with life. They said that there’s a perfect Island - Paradise, but the problem is that a lot of people don’t know about it and don’t even try to get there. Also the main character risked his life to go and save other people’s lives like Jesus came to this world to save us. The movie turned out to be an evangelistic one. We all didn’t want to leave and kept talking. The atmosphere was very warm and open.

Odessa. In September there were three meetings for lay leaders of the church. We developed and accepted a new vision of the further development of our church. We talked about the training for our church members based on the same topics. All groups and Sunday sermons will be on the same topics. We also talked about the worship vision. We are starting to have worship services in a new facility downtown. It will help to build relationships with other churches. In September all groups started functioning. Lay leaders lead all of them. On one of the Sunday services, we had a wedding of the couple from our church and we also have two engagements. It’s a blessing for our church.

Sympheropol. Alyona Krocha: The summer is over. Everybody that left has already come back, and there are a lot of people at our Sunday services now. We’re trying to make our services interesting – we show video-clips, sing, give our testimonies, show pictures. Soon our church puppet theatre will start working and showing wonderful performances.
   Three people from our church are getting ready to be baptized. Yura is having classes with them about faith and doctrines. The baptism is going to be on the 7th of October. One of these three people is my friend that I have been building relationships for 7 years already. I was sowing and watering and finally God is harvesting – she accepted Christ into her heart. Halleluiah!
   This Sunday we’ll have a Harvest Day and will celebrate the 7th birthday of our church. Not long ago we had an English school. The American team was at our services. They sang a wonderful song and John Gehman preached. It was a great encouragement for everybody.

Vinnitsa. The group of the advanced level of English people became friends very quickly. Instead of 9 that signed up only 5 came, but we had a great talk and could get to know each other better. At the beginning each of them shared about themselves, their lives. An open atmosphere helped us build good relationships. Last time one of the girls asked a very practical question: “Why it is written in the Bible to do one way but in our orthodox church everybody does the opposite?...” The group started actively discussing this question. Each of them had the opportunity to discover that the Bible is the authority, and we should live by that.

Zaporozhie. On September 15-16 we were having the extreme picnic. There were about 30 people and most of them were new, they don’t come to our Saturday services. We had a very good spiritual program, talked about the spiritual war, the armor of God that each Christian should wear. It was a great time for fellowship with lay leaders. They helped us a lot in organization of this event. Business club – Our next 4 meetings will be with Maksim Oliferovskiy as a speaker. We are going to practice our skills of managing personal finances. We are trying to start the group again after the summer vacations, attract new people, those who are afraid of Christianity. And we will try to advertise the program of one of the Christian missions “Living by the Book”.

Zhitomir. We keep inviting new people to the church. Two of those that were at the camp came to the church. We keep building relationships with all the rest. We invite them to the Bible study groups. The greatest joy for us was when Vadim and Yulia were baptized at the camp in summer.
   Now we’re working on improving the quality of the sermon and worship. On the 23d of September we had a Harvest Day. There were a lot of people at the church. We were worshiping God together, thanking Him, praying and having great fellowship.
