I heard the voice
of the Lord,
saying,
Whom shall
I send,
and who
will go for us?
Then said I,
Here am I;
send me.

Ukrainian Miracle

Do you believe in miracles? I do. Have you seen them? We sure have!

Sometimes it seems that God is not doing miracles anymore. We don’t see water turn into wine and the blind suddenly become able to see. We can’t walk on the water but we can see many other miracles if only we believe in them. God is doing wonderful things in our lives, in our ministry, in our country!

Seventy years of atheism have passed but made a big impact on people’s minds, understandings and even their character. What should have happened to change that? A miracle! Thirteen years ago the first step was made when our country became independent from Russia but still people’s minds were not free. Thinking wasn’t totally changed. And only today we can say that our nation is being born. Our people have finally learned that we are the nation, we’re Ukrainian people and we should be proud of it. And you can smell the freedom in the air now. Who’s done that? The Lord!

“…if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land” (2 Chronicles 7:14).

These words from Scriptures sound like a very powerful and meaningful promise when we see how every day in the heart of Ukraine — on Independence Square — starts with prayer of hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians crying out: “God, bless our country! Free Ukraine from evil. Let your righteousness rule in our land!”  Priests and pastors from Orthodox, Catholic and Protestant churches pray together!   Yuschenko (opposition leader who we hope will be our president) finishes his every speech with words: “Glory to Ukraine ! Glory to God!”

Many people talk so much about the unbelievable and inconceivable love and care among people in Kiev during Orange Revolution. They don’t believe it and can’t understand. They just haven’t been here and haven’t felt that wonderful unity and power. They were waiting for aggression and anger, for hatred and fights but were disappointed. God was there and was taking care of everything. It was His big plan for our country! The prayers from the stage in front of 200.000 people, songs of prayer asking for God’s mercy and millions of Ukrainian opened hearts show us that this country is now at the beginning of something great!

I am so proud I am Ukrainian! I am so proud I live in this country at this very moment and we have been part of this wonderful event and could see God’s incredible miracles. What an incredible joy to see my people, my nation humble themselves and seek God’s face!
