Every person’s life is a real book with pages that are being turned every day getting more and more stories. We’re reading this book and we’re the main characters of the same book. I want to tell you the most important chapter of my life – meeting the Lord!
Never in my life I denied God’s existence. I was lucky not to be touched by atheism’s poison at school. And somewhere inside my heart I believed that He exists but didn’t know who He is and where He is. I was a boy that lived for his own pleasure, tried not to interfere into other people’s lives and didn’t want others to interfere into his.
When I was second grade student I met my old friend Dan. It was a guy that I liked to argue with. And this time Dan told me about Christians and invited to go and see how students-Christians spend their time. Sure, I didn’t want to go and said it was not interesting for me. “I am swimming with the current and whatever happens I don’t care.” And suddenly he said one thing that changed all my understandings. He said: “you don’t have to follow the current like a log when you can swim against the current like a fish.” I can choose how to live and whom to be. I knew that was true and that was something what I wanted to do – choose things myself.
And I chose to go to the meeting and see how Christians live. The atmosphere was very friendly and I could feel at home there. One can hardly find such company in a common youth group of unbelievers. These people just respected each other and accepted everybody without any exception.
What is the reason of their absolute, unconditional love? I began to understand it step by step when started to attend Bible study group. At that time I began to think about Jesus and His attitude to me. I learned that my Heavenly Father loves me with the greatest and beautiful love just because I am who I am. He doesn’t care who I was, what I did, and how I lived. He just wants me to know Him personally. More and more I got to know Him and realized that I have to make a choice – the most important choice in my life. I needed to choose whether to live by my own plan or by God’s wonderful and incredible plan. I chose the second.
The most interesting is that I write this book together with the Lord. And I still don’t know what will be at the next page and how many pages there will be but I know for sure what will be at the end. I’m sure that I'll be with my Father in Heaven after my death.
